The Colour of Wine is Back

On Monday 6th September at 6pm, Be Inclusive Hospitality will host its first in-person event, following on from the popular September 2020, digital event – The Colour of Wine.

To be held at M Victoria Street, the event is the first of its kind to be held in the UK, creating a safe space for People of Colour within Hospitality, Food and Drink to learn about wine careers, part-take in wine tastings, and network.

” In my 20 years within the sector, I would describe most wine events that I have personally attended as lacking diversity, often stuffy, and quite pretentious. These environments have never felt like welcoming, or comfortable spaces to learn about wine. The Colour of Wine will provide an alternative environment to this, whilst also spotlighting wine experts who are from Black, South Asian and South-East Asian backgrounds” says Founder of Be Inclusive Hospitality, Lorraine Copes.

The event will start with a panel discussion hosted by Shane Jones DipWSET who is a wine educator for several wine schools throughout London and Europe. Shane will be joined by Leona De Pasquale DipWSET, Head of Training at Wine Ed, Audrey Annoh-Antwi, Sommelier at Lorne Restaurants, and Vidya Narasimhan, Wine Consultant. The panellists will discuss their unique paths into the wine industry, what sparked the initial interest and the evolving industry. This panel will be followed by a wine tasting for all attendees, canapes and networking. The event will close at 10pm.

The wine tasting is suitable for curious beginners and enthusiasts, and there are prizes to be won on the night. Tickets are priced at £15 and available to purchase on Eventbrite. Be Inclusive Hospitality members are eligible for a 20% discount on the ticket price, by requesting the code [email protected]

You can purchase your ticket here and officially become a member of the Be Inclusive Hospitality Community by completing a short form.

Be Inclusive Hospitality is a not-for-profit, and the UK’s only professional network for People of Colour working within the Hospitality, Food and Drink sectors.
