 Better Hospitality Starts with Us

Informed commitment to a fairer, stronger hospitality industry.

What is the Better Hospitality campaign?

Better Hospitality provides a clear route to a fairer, stronger, more inclusive industry. It unites research, sector expertise and a set of practical, commercially grounded employer resources that enable informed change.

The campaign brings together three core elements:

Sector-Wide Survey

Looking at pay, progression and workplace experience, with a particular focus on race and ethnicity, the survey took place in May 2026 and captured views from across the hospitality industry. It was shared with a broad, relevant audience through industry partners, advocates and the media.

A Leadership Group

Senior hospitality leaders working together to create a set of practical, commercially grounded resources to enable informed change. The group will meet in May, June and September to discuss and agree the direction and focus of the campaign ahead of the report launch.

Landmark Report

The report will launch to the industry on Monday 28th September. It combines Better Hospitality research insights with employer resources and practical guidance, providing a clear route to a fairer, stronger and more inclusive hospitality industry.

Why is the Better Hospitality campaign needed?

Hospitality can elevate lives, but gaps in pay, progression and workplace experience continue to limit people’s potential and weaken the sector’s ability to grow and compete. This is particularly the case when looked at through the lens of race and ethnicity.

Better Hospitality gives leaders the insight and solutions needed to build workplaces that are fair and inclusive.

How can you benefit from the Better Hospitality report?

Inclusion is a shared responsibility, and stronger workplaces strengthen the whole industry.  We all play a part in creating fairer, stronger, more inclusive workplaces, which is why Better Hospitality is backed by leaders, employers, advocates and partners from across hospitality.

As a leader in hospitality, Better Hospitality will help you enable informed change.

The Better Hospitality Leadership Group

The Better Hospitality Leadership Group brings together senior leaders from across the hospitality sector, spanning hotels, pubs, restaurants, food service, suppliers and associations. All members have direct experience of leading hospitality companies; the realities and the opportunities.

The Leadership Group are influential leaders committed to building a Better Hospitality sector.  Their collective insight informs the Better Hospitality resources, ensuring they are practical, commercially grounded and adoptable by employers of all sizes.
