What is Better Hospitality?
Better Hospitality provides a clear route to a fairer, stronger, more inclusive industry. It unites evidence, expertise and six practical priorities to advance race inclusion in hospitality.
Evidence
A sector-wide survey conducted between May and July 2026 captured 405 hospitality workers’ experiences of pay, progression and workplace culture, with a focus on race and ethnicity.
Expertise
The Better Hospitality Leadership Group brought together senior hospitality leaders throughout 2026 to share experiences and ideas on the barriers and opportunities facing the industry.
Action
Launched on 28 September 26, the report brings together evidence and expertise to define six priorities for building fairer, more inclusive hospitality workplaces, alongside case studies from employers already taking action.

Better Hospitality is an invitation to join a sector-wide commitment to race inclusion in UK hospitality. Employers work towards the same six priorities and learn from one another as they go.
The focus now shifts from what needs to change to how to make change happen.
Better Hospitality is centred on action. Whether joining as a Signatory, Committee Member or Partner, every organisation commits to making progress on the six priorities and contributing to change across the industry.

Any organisation operating in UK hospitality, of any size and in any part of the sector, that is willing to act on the six priorities and report on its progress. Fees are banded by organisation size: small (up to 49 employees), medium (50 to 249) and large (250 or more).
