Website: Miss Tea Smith
Total number of years spent within Hospitality?
7 years
What do you most enjoy about this industry?
The breadth of opportunities, people I have met, and experiences gained. It is a whole different world (to the one that I worked within prior to this), and I really appreciate this change, along with the new skills gained.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I don’t have a typical day, it could be tasting and blending teas, writing blogs, talking to customers and visiting prospective customers. No two days are ever the same.
Tell us something we might not know about the sector?
When you say the word tea, a lot of people conjure up the image of the big two tea producers, here in the UK, after that perhaps Fortnum and Masons or Twining’s. There are actually loads of small independent tea producers within the UK, unbeknown to many.
What has been the single most important piece of advice given to you?
Don’t work harder, work smarter.
Three dinner guests of your choice?
My parents, my grandparents and Nelson Mandela.
Last documentary watched and book read?
The last book was ‘The Testaments’ by Margaret Atwood.
Finish the sentence, the future in hospitality is……..
About experience, memories and enabling others to enjoy this in spaces.
