How did you get into Hospitality?
I was fortunate to travel and live in many countries from a young age. This meant I had to adapt and adjust to many cultures which made me appreciate and respect different points of view. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be in an industry that was diverse and multicultural and hospitality fitted me very well.

What was your first job in Hospitality? 
My first job was in the kitchen at a small hotel in Italy. I had no clue what I was doing and I had no idea where this job was going to lead me. I will say that I learnt a lot during this internship and learnt to appreciate food and cooking, and that chefs are artists!

What was your most job recent (or current)?
I am currently Director of Marketing for the international side of the business for STR. STR is a hotel data benchmarking company. I have been with them for 10.5 years and I have held multiple roles during this time.

Total years spent working within the industry?
15 years

What do you most enjoy about this industry?
The people, the diversity, the camaraderie, the travel (pre-covid of course).

Big break, or career defining moment?
Applying to STR, having the courage to apply for a role when none was being advertised and what a journey its been since then. I grew up at STR.

Advice you would offer to your younger self when you first entered the industry?
Trust yourself, don’t be afraid, ask questions.
